Hall & Oates singer John Oates will be hitting the road solo in early 2018 to promote his forthcoming album, Arkansas. The trek currently is scheduled to kick off January 14 in Morgantown, West Virginia, and is currently scheduled to wrap up February 16 in St. Louis.
Oates also has a New Year’s Eve gig lined up in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will be backed at his concerts by The Good Road Band, a collective of respected Nashville session musicians who also played on Arkansas.
As previously reported, Arkansas is a collection of songs that pay homage to Oates’ love of American roots music. “It’s like Dixieland, dipped in bluegrass, and salted with Delta blues,” explains Oates about the record, which will be released on February 2 on CD, vinyl and digitally.
Oates’ 2018 itinerary also includes “Live at the Lake: A Weekend with John Oates,” a themed vacation getaway taking place February 23-25 at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee resort in Greensboro, Georgia. The three-day event will include a Q&A session, an intimate concert featuring the singer/songwriter and much more.
