Rhino RecordsForeigner has debuted an official video for its new single, “The Flame Still Burns,” which was released last week as a digital download and as part of a limited-edition 10-inch vinyl EP in conjunction with Record Store Day’s 2016 Black Friday sale. The release of the new tune marks the launch of an extended celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the 1977 release of Foreigner’s self-titled debut album.

The video features scenes of founding guitarist/songwriter Mick Jones nostalgically looking at old photos of Foreigner and pieces of memorabilia, as well as watching vintage live clips of the group, intercut with footage of the group’s current lineup performing the tune.

Jones co-wrote “The Flame Still Burns” with Squeeze‘s Chris Difford and veteran songwriter Marti Frederiksen for the 1998 film Still Crazy, which featured a fictional band performing the tune. The following year, the song won a prestigious Ivor Novello Award.

In addition to Foreigner’s new version of “The Flame Still Burns,” the new vinyl EP also includes a live rendition of “Juke Box Hero” and the original 1977 versions of “Feels Like the First Time” and “Long, Long Way from Home.” The disc is available exclusively at select independent record stores.

You can watch the video for “The Flame Still Burns” at the band’s official YouTube channel.
